On our drive to Choir rehearsal yesterday, in an attempt to sing a particular song on her mind, my 3-year old, who I fondly refer to as Drama Queen on Alethea’s Mind, began singing “You are the plan of God” with the tune of ‘You are the Lamb of God’ (from Donut Man’s The Best Present of All). I heard her struggle with the words and the tune as she realised that that wasn’t what she really wanted to sing. So I searched my mind for what I hoped would be the song, fumbling a little myself till we both arrived at the song she had in mind:
“God has a plan for your life”
(To be honest, I have no idea where she heard this song from. I picked her up from nursery one afternoon and she was singing that one line repeatedly. Do I smell a songwriting gift?)
But for whatever reason, the words she originally sang kept ringing in my head and heart:
“You are the PLAN of God”
Don’t we need to hear that as often as we can?
It doesn’t matter where we find ourselves and under what circumstance we might be:
We are the PLAN of God.
We are not a coincidence.
We are not a result of random happenstance.
We are not a mistake.
We are and will always be His plan.
So get up, dust yourself, and if you can, do a twirl, because you are special.
You are the PLAN OF GOD!
. . . and His plans are always GOOD!
