Blogger Recognition Award

When I started writing on WordPress, I never really knew what to expect. I felt all I had to do was deliver on my part with regular posts and only wonder if anyone will read them or be moved or blessed by them. Of course, the decision to start wasn’t all mine. My heavenly Father had prompted me a number of times to do it, and when the day finally came, I could no longer resist. I grabbed my laptop and began to write The Resurrection. The response was epic. It was like the world around me had been waiting for the day, and when it came, they were super excited . . . for the moment. I would share new posts on the only social media platform I use, Facebook, and a number would read and share them, but as weeks and months past by, the numbers began to dwindle. It was easy for me to get discouraged, and I did, at some point, when my focus was skewed. But ultimately I knew this blog wasn’t mine, it belonged to TRUTH, hence the name ALETHEA {αλήθεια, pronounced “al-eethia“}. It belonged to JESUS. I couldn’t even bring myself to use my name as the author, that’s how much I knew it wasn’t mine, so I realised that I had no right to worry about what viewership it got as long as I remained loyal to the Truth; as long as I stayed loyal to JESUS.

Months passed with spells of ups and downs until Jesus began to introduce me to brothers and sisters I never knew I had. For me, that was the turning point in the entire experience. Within the WordPress community, I began to share such kindred fellowship with other Godlovers and Truth Seekers. I realised that my Father had made plans for me to feed on His words from His many children on WordPress, and not just share the ones He had given me. The community began to grow as I met one new sibling after the other, and continue to. Among many, I have enjoyed sharing such warm fellowship with Amy Blount and Sue Love, who both nominated Alethea’s Mind for a Blogger Recognition Award. I know I have gotten a few of these nominations in the past and I apologize for not getting around with a response, but what makes both their nominations quite special to me was the fact that they came on my birthday and the day after. It felt like a birthday present that I never expected, and for that, I’m beyond grateful. Thank you, sisters!

To New Bloggers out there, those who started after I did and are still trying to find their feet, if there is no purpose for your blog, you might struggle for quite a while. Asking questions like ‘Why do I write?’, ‘Who am I writing for?’ and ‘Who am I writing to?’ can help you discover your blog’s purpose if you haven’t figured it out yet.

I’ll also refer you to Sue’s advice which was so spot on.

I would love to nominate other bloggers for this award, and a whole lot them in my community are well deserving. So in all humility, I nominate all of you who have taken the time to recognise Alethea’s Mind as a blog worth following.

God bless you all!

(By the way, my name is Oluwatosin, meaning God is worthy of worship in the Nigerian Yoruba dialect. You can call me Tosin, for short)

The Rules:

  • Thank the Blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Write a post to show your Award.
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice to New Bloggers
  • Select 15 or more bloggers for this award.
  • Let each Nominee know you’ve Nominated them and leave a link to your post.

  1. Tosin, That was beautiful! I loved what you shared about how your blog began. Yes, we have to give our blogs to the Lord and relinquish ownership to him. And then we need to let him decide what goes on the blog. Then stats won’t matter. Our job is just to write what he says and then leave the results to him.

So glad to have met you and that we can fellowship together even though we live so far apart. Praise the Lord!

    1. My dear brother, I am grateful for you. Funny thing is you were one of the first who began to celebrate Alethea’s Mind and I couldn’t understand why. But God used you to encourage my heart to remain loyal to the purpose He has given, like you have stayed loyal to yours. Thank you, Stu. Thank you!

Congratulations on the recognition and receiving of this Bloggers Award. Indeed it belongs to Truth and to JESUS. May the Lord continue to guide the thoughts and inspiration behind all the blogs that you write. May the words minister wholeness to all readers including my humble self.
    Many Blessings
    In His Love
    Sola
