I woke up one morning and began to thank God for watching over us through the night. As I prayed, I could hear a voice inside trying to break the chain of my prayerful thoughts. It started by dragging my attention to my neighbours, then it spoke:
Useless voice: Why do you thank God for watching over you through the night, and thank Him for protecting you from evil?
Me: (silence)
Useless voice: Your neighbours are not Christians. Probably atheist to the right and Buddhist to the left, and nothing evil happened to them at night. Why must you attribute your safety to be God protecting you?
Me: (searching for a befitting answer)
Useless voice: You see . . . you have nothing
Me: (Realising that if I gave no answer, it’ll continue ranting) The Bible says, if the Lord doesn’t guard the city, the guards are watching for nothing. Yes, my neighbours might have been safe through the night and not attribute their safety to God, but I do, because I know I’m safe because of Him. And because He watches over me, they’re blessed to be my neighbours, to enjoy the safety too.
Useless voice: (silence)
I continue thanking my darling Heavenly Father for His love and care and protection, and never hear from that useless voice again.
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendour. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only. Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

The enemy will always try to sow seeds in our minds (that’s his job anyway). The good news is that we have the authority through Christ to stand up to him(the devil) with the word of God!
Thank you Tosin for sharing this!💕💕

Being able to distinguish between the Holy Spirit and the enemy is a crucial skill that we all need to develop.
