Much More Than A Tune :)

. . . and it’s music for God’s heart

Do you remember the post A Tune For A Song? If I must confess, it wasn’t a post I had planned to write, but as I look back, I see God’s leading hand steering me to do the things that align me with His blessings.

Pondering on the song, I was half expecting anyone to come back to me saying they had a tune, but in the wait, the Lord put in my heart the name of someone I follow here on WordPress. Sue Love. I had seen and listened to original songs the Lord had given her which she shares on her posts, so I understood why He would send me to her. Now here is one thing: I did not know much about her apart from the things she has shared about herself on her blog, but one thing I was certain of is her desire to follow only the leading of God. It’s funny the things you read about people that stick with you. I remember reading a comment she made on an award she got tagged on, and she said she’ll ask the Lord if she should participate. That was a long time ago, but that one thing remained with me. So I asked for her help if the Lord permitted her . . . and she responded.

This post is a testimony that God is not limited by time or distance. It is also a testimony that God is interested even in the smallest details of our lives, like a song, and the words we sing. It is a testimony that we can truly unite as the Body of Christ and love and serve together, unconditionally. It is a testimony that nothing can ever separate us from the love of God in Christ, and every day, He wants to shower that love on us as we choose to love one another, that we can be God’s answer to the prayers of others.

Working on this song with Sue has shown me that there is a deeper level to plunge into with God, and no matter where you are in Him, there’s much more, in fact, we have barely scratched the surface. Working with her has also directed my focus on the Lord, making sure that I’m always led by Him and not by my flesh, seeking to please only Him and no one else, for the glory of His holy name. She has reminded me to stay sensitive to His Spirit which is the inner witness as He leads us to do what will please Him.

I am forever grateful for this experience, for, in it, God has blessed me, not only with a tune, but better words to express what is truly in my heart, and a dear friend in Him, too.

It’s All You

Lyrics by Tosin Iyawo Ogaga & Sue Love
Music by Sue Love @ Original Works
May 31, 2019

You are the reason I want to dance.
You are the reason I want to sing.
You are the reason, expressing myself,
I serve You in all the ways You lead me.

You are the reason my heart gives You praise.
You are the reason that I am alive.
I bring out Your best moves
Just so I do embrace You;
Sing out loud as You lead just to please You.

Let myself follow You. I don’t care who watches me.
All I want to do is to make you smile.

Let every fibre of me bring You praise.
Your love has lifted my feet to dance.
Your faithfulness leaves me singing for joy.
You, Jesus, are the reason, it’s all You.

Your grace gives me life.

To God alone be all the glory!

  1. Tosin, it was wonderful working with you on this song, too. Your grace, your patience, your understanding with me, as we tweaked and changed the lyrics around here and there, speaks volumes about your character, your love for Jesus, and your desire to please him in all that you do and are.

You have blessed my life tremendously and taught me much, as well, and I am still learning. And, I am most certain I still have more to learn that God wants to teach me through this experience and through working together with you on this song this past week or so. For, it has been a character building exercise for me. For, my Lord is still working on me in refining my character. So, thank you for listening to him. Love you in Jesus! Sue

  2. Reblogged this on Run With It and commented:
About a week ago Tosin, of Alethea’s Mind Blog, wrote a poem which she believed was to be a song, so she put out an appeal for someone to come up with a tune for her song. And, then she asked me, and the Lord led me to do that, although I had never written a tune for someone else before. And, the Lord gave me a tune for her song, and she accepted it. And, then we worked together for a week putting it all together. It was wonderful working with Tosin on this song, too. Her grace, her patience, her understanding with me, as we tweaked and changed the lyrics around here and there, speaks volumes about her character, her love for Jesus, and her desire to please him in all that she does and is as a child of God and a believer in Jesus Christ. Thank you, Tosin! You have blessed my life!!

  3. Tosin, here is the PowerPoint presentation I worked on to go with the song. My husband worked on bringing our voices together with the music and I helped, too, with the balance. The problem comes to play for us when the song leaves Audacity and goes to an mp3, the balance changes, so we had to play with that for a while, and then when the mp3 is placed in the PowerPoint, the balance changes again, so I had to keep playing with the balance until it was right for the PPTX file, but then when I put it on Vimeo, the balance changed again. So, it isn’t perfect, but now you have a recording of us singing it together. So, we wrote it together and now we sang it together. Glory to God! 🙂

    1. Awwwwww. This is amazing. God’s love is in all of this, even in the imperfection. Well done to you and your husband for trying so hard to get it done. The effort is very much appreciated. 🤗🤗🤗

      1. You are welcome. Jesus doesn’t demand perfection, just us walking with him in obedience. For, he has called the weak and the despised, etc., for that way he gets all the glory and praise. 🙂
