Celebrating DQ

And all the joy she brings . . .

Drama Queen (DQ) turned 4 last Saturday. To honour the grace of God on her life, I’ll be sharing a few of her artworks and some of the funny things she has said (at least, they were funny to me πŸ˜„)

Enjoy.

Family portrait. I really don’t know who the extra fellow is
DQ, her brother and her dolls, as she described it to me
Jesus on the cross, her greatest obsession
She’s got a good sense of style
Another obsession: Rainbows
The rainbow always makes an entrance
DQ and her brother in their lovely castle
She is one happy child
Another family portrait, and we’re all under a rainbow
This is the most recent of all. I was totally awed with how good she has become.

The Lord’s Prayer, according to DQ

One morning, during our devotion time, we said the Lord’s prayer together. She was just learning it at the time so I would say a line and make her say what came after mine. This was how it went:

Me: Our Father in heaven

DQ: Hallowed be Your name

Me: Your kingdom come

DQ: Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven

Me: Give us this day

DQ: Our daily bread

Me: And forgive us our debts

DQ: As we forgive our debtors

Me: And lead us not . .Β .

DQ: into the naughty corner . . .

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I tried not to die laughing.

The Definition of Humble, according to DQ

During another devotion time, we were learning about humility. So I asked her if she knew the meaning of the word ‘humble’. Well . . .

Me: Do you know the meaning of humble?

DQ: Yes. It’s when you have a big tummy like Mr TumbleΒ

Mr Tumble, and I really don’t see a big tummy, lol. I guess his name rhymes with ‘humble’

Nara Lyrics, according to DQ

Finally, there’s this song we love to sing a lot at home, titled ‘Nara‘. The first verse goes like this:

You’ve done so much for me, I cannot tell it all
Narekele mo
If I had ten thousand tongues, it still won’t be enough
Narekele mo

Well, one day, DQ decides to sing it, and these were her words:

You’ve done so much for me, I cannot tell it all
Narekele mo
If I had ten thousand pounds, it still won’t be enough
Narekele mo

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I laughed my head off. Of course, if I had ten thousand pounds, I probably won’t complain, but it still won’t be enough. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Enjoy the song.

Every day, I thank God for the amazing daughter God blessed us with. For her life, to Him alone be all the glory.

And, I think, personally, that “the extra fellow” must be Jesus.

    1. Thank you, Kathy. You know I tried to write a post on Saturday for her but I didn’t know how. You certainly helped me on this one, I’m grateful. And I believe what you have said about the extra fellow. He certainly is a member of this family. ☺️
