I enjoy our morning devotions as a family. God speaks to us in many ways, and one of those many ways is through the voices of our kids. For those who follow this blog, you might have come across quite a few of these types of posts where I share a quote or an action of either my 4-year-old daughter (Drama Queen) or my 3-year-old son (Bumble-Bee). This is one of them.
One morning, recounting what we had learned the day before, I asked the kids if they remembered the memory verse. Vividly cracking her brain to bring the words out, Drama Queen responded,
“Mummy, I know, I know!”
I let her have a shot at it, and she said:
“When two or three people come together, they will be friends forever . . .”
She paused for a bit, and concluded,
“. . . in God’s family”
I had already began to laugh when I heard the friends forever part, but when she ‘in God’s family’, I realised that she was actually quoting her understanding of that verse of the Bible:
Matthew 18:20 – For where two or three are gathered in my name, I’m there with them.”
“When two or three people come together, they will be friends forever . . . in God’s family”
Drama Queen
God’s Family.
Friends Forever.
Come Together.
I laugh as I think about this – the mansion of that brother or sister you don’t like might just be beside yours in heaven and you’ll be friends forever 🤣🤣🤣🤣
We may not always agree, but let us not be divided. For a house divided against itself will not stand. All the division within the body of Christ will come to an end when we see Jesus face to face, so let’s take DQ’s advice:
Come together, let’s be friends forever in God’s Family.
I love the child’s heart and her interpretation. That’s why Jesus said that children are so important because they can teach us if we let them.

My dad used to say we should never be too big to be taught by the littlest person.

😁 I’m thinking there’s never a dull moment at your house. Again, I applaud you for having the mind of Christ when it comes to your little ones. I love this; thanks for sharing it with us.

There really isn’t a dull moment 😂😂😂
I’m grateful for the grace that God gives us. He’s raising them for us, we would be useless without His help!
