“Dandelion”

Over the period of the lockdown, we’ve gone on regular afternoon walks. Some of our favourite things to spot are the seedheads of dandelion plants, or what you might call a blowball. I’ve become quite fascinated by them, especially how with a single breath they disperse their hair-like seeds.

Many times we’re just like that. A little wind and we’re blown off in different directions. Our confidence, identity, security, emotions, temper, faith . . . all these are major victims of the unwelcomed wind that life blows in our direction and we flutter away.

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13

You don’t have to listen to those voices that tempt you to fear. You don’t have to look down at the waves beneath your feet. You don’t have to give up because you hear the voice of Goliath. Stand firm!

God’s got you!

  1. Love this!
James 1.5, 6 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind

  2. This is good, Tosin. Here in America we are being bombarded daily with “fear” messages. They seem to want us to have a daily does of fear for some reason, for they pour it on all the time. So, people end up fearing going out in public, being with other people, talking to anyone, even making eye contact now, too. You don’t see smiles now for they are all covered with masks and everyone is worried to make sure they don’t get too close to anyone else. Now I am not recommending rebellion and I certainly believe in safety and sensible precautions, but we have to guard against all this fear, fear, fear as a daily dose, and we must trust the Lord with what is going on in our nations and follow his lead in all this craziness.

So, thanks for your encouraging message here. Love you!! Sue
